Shopping with Your PJ’s on Aya Jaafar "9C"
“One thing every girl needs to hear: let’s go shopping”
This quote asserts and alludes how endless is love among girls and mostly in shopping. Boys like football, and it is their favorite sport and girls feel the
same toward a new T-shirt or new high heels. However shopping has changed, and
instead of going to the mall, searching for a parking spot, wasting time, girls
order things online. Online shopping isn’t only beneficial for girls, but also fathers,
teachers, kids…everyone! I believe that Online shopping has many advantages be
it environmental, economic or social.
To begin with, shopping online has many advantages on the
environment since it decreases air pollution exerted by cars to go to the malls
or stores. Online shops give one the opportunity to shop 24/7, and also reward
us with a ‘no pollution’ shopping experience. There is no better place to buy
informational products like e-books, which are available to us instantly, as
soon as the payment goes through. Downloadable items purchased online eliminate
the need for any kind of physical material at all, as well, which helps the
environment! A study
concludes that shoppers who complete every step of a single transaction online,
whom the author calls Cybernauts, will have a carbon footprint almost two times
smaller than traditional shoppers, who make multiple visits to a store to
evaluate, purchase and return items. Emissions related to packaging and
delivery of the items purchased online didn’t outweigh the impact of customer
transportation going to the store and back.
Moreover, online shopping is very beneficial for saving
money, so it has various advantages to the economy. Cheap deals
and better prices are available online because products come to the client directly
from the manufacturer or seller without involving middlemen. Plus, it's easier
to compare prices and find a better deal. Many online sites offer discount
coupons and rebates, as well. Not only are the prices better, but one can also save on
tax as well since online shops are only required to collect a sales tax if
they have a physical location in one's state. Moreover, comparing and
researching products and their prices is so much easier online. If a customer is shopping for appliances, for example, one can find consumer reviews and product
comparisons for all the options on the market, with links to the best prices.
We can research firsthand experience, ratings, and reviews for most products
and retailers which help one find exactly what he or she is looking for at the
cheapest price.
Furthermore shopping online has a lot of social
advantages. Shopping online saves time. So instead of going to the mall, waiting
in the line for an hour, searching for a parking lot, and waiting for hours for
a fitting room, one can have everything ready at a blink of an eye. Especially during
holidays, festivals, or on weekends, they can be such a huge headache. Also,
being crushed in the crowds of shoppers sometimes makes us feel rushed or
hurried. One doesn't have to battle for a parking place. All of these problems
can be avoided when one shops online.” said Jennifer Madison. Moreover, shopping
online makes one feel comfortable and wise. Oftentimes, when we're out shopping, we end up buying things that we don't really need, all
because shopkeepers pressure us or use their selling skills to compel us to
make these purchases. However, convenience
is the biggest perk. Where else can we comfortably shop at midnight while in
our pajamas? There are no lines to wait in or cashiers to track down to help
us with our purchases, and we can do our shopping in minutes.
All in all, one
can’t help but notice how online shopping saves time, money, reduces air and
noise pollution, and how it is so advanced. I love ordering things online
because when they arrive it’s like a present to me, from me.
