Title: Water Pollution: An Indispensable Environmental Issue

I.                 There are myriad reasons behind water pollution that lead to hazardous effects, so serious measures should be taken to overcome this serious issue.

II.             A) Dumping wastes in the sea leads to risky diseases in marine and human lives.

1-  deposing about 3.5 million metric tons of plastic due to mismanaged waste in China

2-  introducing toxic substances that turn to be a major cause for hazardous diseases in organisms

B) Oil spills result in eutrophication which causes water pollution.

1- splitting 5.65 million tons of oil in marine water from 1970 to   2009

2-affecting organisms by the poisonous chemical constituents that cause their death
III. To sum it up with, dumping industrial and toxic wastes and splitting spilled oil in seas are the crucial reasons for water pollution.

Water Pollution: An Indispensable Environmental Issue
‘Pollution is the forerunner of perdition.’ This quote asserts and alludes that pollution is a crucial threat to all living things, especially humans, its schemes. Pollution is the greatest hindrance tackled nowadays, for through ruining and devastating all the means of living, humans will be an endangered species. Pollution is displayed in myriad faces, mainly in water contamination.  There are myriad reasons behind water pollution that leads to hazardous effects, so serious measures should be taken to overcome this enormous issue.
To begin with, one of the essential reasons behind water pollution is dumping industrial and toxic wastes in seas. Millions of tons of plastic trash flow in the world’s oceans each year. The World Health Organization (WHO) has found in its recent study that most of these wastes come from China and developing economies in Asia. The study has estimated that China’s heavily coastal population contributes 1.3 million to 3.5 million metric tons of plastic due to mismanaged wastes. Dumping involves deposing all the waste materials emitted in oceans and seas from factories, industries, tankers, ships, and sewerage materials. Besides, such risky action yields to tricky drawbacks. If dumping is done in areas close to where fishing is done, toxic substances will be consumed by fish, and gradually accumulates in their bodies. Upon consumption of fish by humans, some toxic substances will be introduced in their bodies. Amato reported that more than 50,000 persons have been affected by seafood poisoning them. It is also linked Minamata, a serious disease with mercury seafood poisoning which has been registered in more than 2,000 cases in China, Canada, and other countries. Besides, consumption of poisoned seafood such as crabs, shrimps, and cuttlefish has widely been associated with paralysis, delirium, brain damage, and cancers.
Moreover, splitting oil spills into seas and oceans plays a vital role in polluting water. From 1970 to 2009, approximately 5.65 million tons of oil has been split in marine waters. Oil spilled can be a variety of materials such as crude oil and refined petroleum products like fuels and gasoline. These figures don’t include oil spills of less than 7,000 tones which means that the actual amount exceeds the above number. As an effect, spilled oil can harm living things because its chemical constituents are poisonous. This can affect organisms both from internal exposure to oil through ingestion or inhalation and from external exposure through skin and eye irritation along with reducing their ability to maintain their body temperature. For instance, sea otters and sea birds are the most affected by spilled oil. They are harmed and killed in great numbers, for they can be easily harmed by oil since their ability to stay warm depends on their fur remaining clear.
To sum it up with, dumping industrial and toxic wastes and splitting spilled oil in seas are the crucial reasons behind water pollution. Besides, serious measures should be taken to overcome this vital issue. The initiations of campaigns aimed at stopping ocean dumping can go a long way in educating people and creating awareness. Most people are unaware of the dangers of ocean dumping simply because they aren’t enlightened about its repercussions. Furthermore, using a naturally present microorganism to clean up spills makes use of bacteria living in the ocean which actually eat the oil when it enters their natural habitat. Adding sulfate or nitrate fertilizers to the microorganism population causes them to multiply beyond their natural state and eat up the toxic metals invading their home at up to five times the rate that they would do without assistance.
