A Spine-Chilling Experience

“Most people face horrible experiences in their lives” this quote alludes that horrible experiences and encounters are a normal phenomenon in one’s life. In the modern day, it is hard to say what is real and what is not, with “monsters” such as vampires, werewolves, and zombies being used for mere entertainment. However, my encounter with the ghost is as real as it can get.

It was the 21st of July, my friends and I were cleaning a backyard for extra money. All of a sudden, there was a creaking sound accompanied by a chill down my spine, a big, dark, mysterious door appears out of thin air. We were a bunch of reckless kids, so we, of course, had to not mind our own business and dig our own graves, it was decided that we enter the door and see where it leads. Me, being the sane one in the group voted not to. After being laughed at hysterically, I was more in than anyone else, fearing my reputation. 3 reckless teens and a mysterious chamber, what could go wrong, right?  Well, everything.

Not long after we entered the room, the temperature dropped, it was freezing in the room. Being the superstitious person I am, I always used to read the lore. In the lore, the presence of phantoms is always accompanied by a mysterious drop in the temperature.H halfway through and already scared for dear life. Not long after trying to get my friends to leave, did the door close shut, leaving us scared out of our wits. My friends and I were trying to keep optimistic, saying it was probably the wind, but we all knew it wasn’t. And here we were, trying to make the best out of a bad situation. suddenly, a blue fog just runs in front of us at the speed of light and I almost passed out if it wasn’t for the other creature, this inhuman, unearthly creature was walking , right in front of my eyes , well it could’ve been my mind playing tricks on me after the phantom we saw , but for my own sake, I say it wasn’t.

To this day, my friends and I speak nothing of the incident, just so people don’t call us crazy, but whatever was in that room, has mysteriously disappeared. Did we go back? Yes, are we insane? No, we went back merely for believing ourselves and not thinking we were crazy. But the room just vanished, leaving us with an icy cold memory of a day in July.
